BCT series capacitor banks consist of C7 series thyristor switches, compensation modules and advanced digital relays for reactive power factor control.


BCT series capacitor banks can be easily designed according to the desired power thanks to the modular design modules. This modular design provides fast and efficient solutions during installation, maintenance and system development.


BCT series capacitor banks switch steps smoothly and instantly, thanks to advanced digital relays for reactive power control. The relay determines the activation or deactivation of the capacitors according to feedback calculations based on the values coming from the CT and VT. In BCT series capacitor banks, harmonic filtering reactors are connected in series before the capacitor units, to protect the capacitor units against dangerous harmonic currents and voltage harmonics and to eliminate possible parallel resonance effects of the compensation system.


Thyristor controlled BCT capacitor banks are designed to provide the required reactive power, allowing very fast switching according to the needs of rapidly changing loads. Thyristor switching modules prevent inrush currents during operation.
